How Sentry Reached 1.2M+ Developers as GitNation's H1 2026 General Partner
In the first half of 2026, Sentry ran a digital General Partnership with GitNation and put its brand in front of developers 1.245 million times. Over six months, Sentry appeared on six conference websites, across GitNation.com and in the GitNation content digest.
This case study walks through what the partnership included, how it was executed and what the numbers say - so future partners can see exactly what a GitNation General Partnership delivers.
The partner and the goal
Sentry is an application monitoring platform that helps developers catch, trace and fix bugs across their entire stack. Its core users are the people GitNation gathers every year: JavaScript, React and full-stack engineers, plus the engineering leaders who choose their teams' tooling. Sentry's goal was steady, high-quality brand presence with that audience across the whole season - not a single event booth.
The package
The H1 2026 General Partnership is GitNation's always-on digital offer. Instead of tying a brand to one conference, it runs across GitNation's whole web and email footprint for the half-year.
Channel | What the partner gets | Planned reach |
|---|---|---|
Conference websites | Hero placement plus an extended About-section card on React Summit, JSNation, TechLead Conf, AI Coding Summit, Node Congress and Web Engineering Summit | ~350K unique visitors |
GitNation.com | Placement on the highest-traffic pages: home, events listing and individual event pages | 140K+ unique visitors |
Email digest | Placements in the GitNation content digest, with an optional exclusive email to the Events newsletter | 109K+ digest subscribers, 60K+ newsletter |
For Sentry, every placement carried the same consistent message - "Catch, trace, and fix bugs across your entire stack" - with a "GitNation Events Supporter" badge and a Learn more link.
How it ran
Sentry's brand ran on three surfaces at once, so developers met it wherever they were in their GitNation journey - planning a trip to a conference, catching up on talks, or reading their inbox.
Conference websites. Each site carried two Sentry placements: a "Supported by Sentry" mark in the hero, the first thing visitors see, and a full-width card in the About section. The partnership covered JSNation, React Summit, TechLead Conf Amsterdam, AI Coding Summit Berlin and New York, and Node Congress. The AI Coding Summit sites put Sentry directly next to topics like observability and tracing for AI workflows.

GitNation.com. Sentry's banner ran on the home page, the upcoming-events listing and the pages of React Summit, JSNation, Web Engineering Summit, TechLead Conf and Node Congress, plus a featured tile among trending talks. These pages draw developers year-round, long after a given event ends.
Email digest. Sentry's "Quit Buggin'" partner post went to the GitNation digest's 112K subscribers. The creative told a sharper story than a banner can: traces, replays, errors and profiles in one view, and Seer, Sentry's AI debugging agent, finding the root cause.
Results
Across H1 2026, the partnership delivered 1.245M impressions: 1.231M on the web and 15K digest opens. Web placements drove 1,077 engagements, and the digest added about 1K email engagements.
Two things stand out. Visitors saw Sentry repeatedly: conference sites produced 788K impressions from an estimated ~350K unique visitors, and GitNation.com 443K from 140K+ - two to three impressions per visitor.
What future partners can take from this
- Flagship sites carry the volume. React Summit and JSNation together delivered 652K impressions — more than half of the total. Partnering across the flagship conferences is the fastest way to scale reach.
- Niche audiences carry the intent. TechLead Conf drew a fraction of the traffic but engaged at more than three times the rate of the flagships. Engineering leaders who pick tools for their teams are worth reaching directly.
- The platform keeps the brand visible between events. GitNation.com was the single largest source of impressions (443K), because developers come back to it year-round for talks, workshops and event pages.
- Email turns attention into clicks. One digest inclusion drove about as many clicks as all web placements combined. A strong creative with a clear story - Sentry's "Quit Buggin'" piece - makes the difference.
- One message, many surfaces. Sentry used the same tagline and badge everywhere, so each touchpoint reinforced the last.
